Brb gonna check out all the techniques you mentioned!!!!

I see so many attention span fixes posts but they mostly all round to techniques which feels more like going cold turkey?

I had this idea or nudge floating around for a while to take notes of the books I read and the few times I did so was a memorable experience...

I think this post reminded that to me again! Really loved this 🤌🏽🫶🏼

This was so much fun to read! I am going to check out all of the things you mention here. Note taking is definitely the best form of learning. Second best is teaching. Which serves exactly the same purpose the essay writing you mention does. I appreciate that you mention talking about things as well. The concept of a salon where minds regularly hung together and just talked would have done just that—finding interconnectedness of ideas. When I was learning a (foreign) language, I remember deliberately looking for two or three new words in a physical dictionary and literally writing them out in my notebook, with a sentence each having used them in a sentence. This helped retain the vocabulary so much, I inadvertently found myself using those words in class and in essays in the said language. Anyway, thank you for reminding me of all of that, specially in the context of this very real very current problem. I can foresee a shift in my perspective.
